The Company is seeking a Chief Compliance and Operational Risk Officer for Japan. This pivotal role involves leading the Japan Compliance team, executing the compliance oversight program, and overseeing the non-financial risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing value-adding compliance and risk management advice, ensuring the effective management of compliance and operational risks, and engaging with senior stakeholders on key compliance and risk matters. Additionally, the role includes monitoring regulatory changes, acting as a key liaison with regulators, and leading local risk and compliance governance forums. Applicants for this role at The Company should be proficient in Japanese and English, with a strong background in Japanese financial services regulations. The position requires demonstrated leadership, people management, and influencing skills, as well as the ability to drive change and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or equivalent experience, with at least 15 years in Japan's financial services regulatory environment, is essential. Experience in a Compliance or Risk Advisory practice at a Big 4 firm is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a team-oriented mindset, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
