Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead the end-to-end performance of a strategically important container terminal. The role oversees safety, service, productivity, quality, cost, and continuous improvement while ensuring operations adapt to changing volumes and customer needs. The COO will provide visible leadership to a large frontline workforce, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and manage complex employee and labor relations. Responsibilities also include building relationships with government authorities, customers, and other stakeholders, and advancing operational transformation through technology and digitization. Candidates should bring significant senior operations experience in ports and terminals, ideally in container terminal or gateway operations, with a strong record leading complex, high-volume operations and large workforces. Fluency in Arabic and English is essential, along with experience managing labor relations, unions, or collective bargaining and engaging external stakeholders. Familiarity with Lean, operational excellence, performance improvement, and digitization is required. The ideal candidate combines strategic perspective with hands-on leadership, sound judgment, resilience, and cultural agility.
