Vice President of Finance & Business Operations

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Business Operations to provide executive leadership for financial, operational, physical, human capital, and technology resources. The role oversees a broad portfolio of functions, including fiscal services, budgeting, grants, student financial services, facilities, campus safety, information technology, human resources, and operations. Responsibilities include guiding strategic planning, stewarding public resources, overseeing budgets and financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading audits and internal controls. The Vice President will also direct capital planning and construction, support emergency preparedness, and represent the institution in legislative, governance, and community settings. Candidates must hold a master’s degree in business, accounting, public administration, or a closely related field, and have at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in public-sector finance, budgeting, administration, or similar work, including leadership experience. Required qualifications include strong strategic financial management skills, knowledge of higher education compliance and applicable laws, experience leading multidisciplinary teams, and effective written and public-speaking abilities. The role calls for an innovative, collaborative leader committed to service, accountability, and continuous improvement. A doctoral degree, experience with enterprise resource planning systems, collective bargaining, and public higher education are preferred.
