Interim Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

The Company is seeking an Interim Chief Medical Officer to provide clinical and administrative leadership across a multi-hospital healthcare system. The role focuses on engaging medical staff and physician leaders, strengthening communication and collaboration among employed and independent physicians, and supporting safe, effective patient care. Responsibilities include leading medical executive and peer review processes, advancing quality initiatives, evaluating performance variances, and identifying opportunities to improve clinical outcomes. The CMO will also balance clinical priorities with operational and financial sustainability. Candidates must hold an MD or DO and have an active medical license in the relevant state or the ability to obtain one. A strong clinical background, ideally in emergency medicine or acute care, is preferred, along with experience in medical staff leadership, peer review, provider recruitment, and relationship-building. Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as a genuine, professional, and approachable leadership style, are essential.
