Head of Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead a core technology workstream in a growing, regulated digital business. The role oversees software engineering, architecture, and quality assurance, including team resourcing, process improvement, and the development of engineering managers. Responsibilities include raising standards for continuous integration and delivery, automation, and testing; improving delivery flow and software quality; and maintaining the health of complex production platforms. The Head of Engineering will also oversee identity and account lifecycle management, public key infrastructure, and payment-related engineering, ensuring systems are robust, auditable, and compliant. Candidates should have proven experience scaling engineering teams in a high-growth or established digital business, ideally working with C# and .NET platforms. They should bring current knowledge of modern software engineering and continuous integration and delivery, along with a metrics-driven approach to quality and value. Experience leading managers, developing people, and working in agile, product-led environments is required. Applicants should also have experience with complex systems and disciplined change, incident, and problem management, plus familiarity with account management, public key infrastructure, or payment platforms and relevant security and compliance standards.
