Chair of the Supervisory Board

The Company is seeking a Chair of the Supervisory Board to lead the board’s work and ensure it operates professionally and collegially. The Chair will provide structure, connect differing perspectives, support careful decision-making, and oversee the quality of governance and the relationship between the Supervisory Board and Executive Board. As the Executive Board’s primary discussion partner, the Chair will offer constructive challenge and guidance on the organization’s strategic and societal responsibilities. The role also includes fostering effective engagement with staff and student representatives and representing the organization externally where appropriate. Candidates should have extensive senior leadership experience in a large, complex organization, ideally in education or the public or social sector, and have personally led an organization of professionals. Significant governance experience, including experience chairing a supervisory or governing board, is required. The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, analytical ability, independence, strong facilitation skills, and a clear understanding of oversight responsibilities. They should also understand vocational education and its links to employment and regional development, value participation and transparent governance, and demonstrate an approachable, unifying leadership style.
