Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel Greater New York City, NY Area

The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership across regulatory engagement, corporate governance, lending, enterprise risk, employment law, and litigation. The role advises executive leadership and the Board, oversees regulatory matters and board-related work, and provides legal guidance on commercial and residential lending, restructurings, and enforcement. Responsibilities also include managing significant litigation and outside counsel, advising on employment matters and workplace compliance, and partnering across functions to address legal risk and support strategic initiatives. Candidates must have at least 15 years of progressive legal experience, including substantial experience advising financial services organizations, and a record of supporting senior leaders or board-level engagements. Required expertise includes securities law, corporate governance, public company requirements, bank regulation, employment law, and experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, or strategic corporate initiatives. Applicants must be licensed attorneys with active bar admission, a Juris Doctor, and a bachelor’s degree; admission in New York and/or New Jersey is preferred. Strong judgment, risk assessment, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
