Trustee (Board-level role)
About the Role
Greater Birmingham, United Kingdom Area (Headquarter location)
The Company is in a pivotal phase of its evolution, seeking new Trustees to join its governing board. The successful candidates will be instrumental in providing strategic direction, ensuring robust governance, and advocating for the organization's mission. This includes holding the executive team accountable and fostering a deep connection between the collections and historic sites and the diverse communities they serve. The role demands a commitment to the values of radical inclusion, collective spirit, and a focus on the cultural and social impact of the organization. Trustees will be expected to set long-term vision, ensure financial sustainability, and act as ambassadors, while also being involved in the development of partnerships that benefit the Trust. The ideal Trustees for the company will be those who are comfortable with democratic governance models and are able to contribute strategically at the Board level. The company is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in property, development, and capital delivery, as well as those with a background in the museum and heritage sector, and expertise in digital, data, and AI. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, and therefore, candidates with a strong connection to Birmingham's diverse communities, especially those from Asian and working-class backgrounds, are encouraged to apply. The role requires a time commitment of 1-2 days per month, including formal Board meetings, sub-committee meetings, and preparation for these engagements.
