The Company is seeking a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic and commercially astute finance leader. The CFO will also hold the position of Section 151 Officer, playing a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction and long-term sustainability. This senior leadership position is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a comprehensive finance strategy, ensuring the highest standards of financial stewardship, governance, and control. The successful candidate will be the Chief Constable's principal professional adviser on finance and financial governance, providing clear, independent advice to support executive decision-making and safeguard public funds. Applicants for the CFO role at the company should be CCAB-qualified accountants with significant post-qualification experience in senior financial leadership, ideally within a complex public sector or similarly regulated environment. The role requires a candidate with a strong track record of strategic leadership, professional influence, and effective challenge at the Board or Executive level. Expert knowledge of financial strategy, governance, statutory reporting, risk, audit, and the stewardship of public money is essential. The CFO will also provide senior strategic leadership of the Estates function, so experience in this area is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have commercial acumen, the ability to identify and deliver efficiencies, and a commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and public service.
