Interim Head of Social Value, Sustainability & ESG

The Company is seeking a Head of Social Value, Sustainability & ESG to embed its Social Value strategy, governance, processes, and ways of working across the organization. The role leads a multidisciplinary team and coordinates delivery of strategic priorities, while advising senior stakeholders and building accountability across business functions. Responsibilities include managing budgets, suppliers, investment decisions, and the Social Value Fund; overseeing impact measurement, reporting, and risk controls; and supporting environmental commitments and progress toward net-zero targets. The role also advances inclusion and accessibility, employee volunteering, and community impact, while strengthening stakeholder partnerships and ensuring sustainable processes and knowledge transfer. Candidates should bring significant leadership experience in Social Value, ESG, or responsible business, along with strong commercial judgment and experience balancing social impact with business outcomes. Required capabilities include managing budgets and suppliers, influencing senior and executive stakeholders, leading multidisciplinary teams, and applying social impact measurement and governance. An understanding of accessibility and disability inclusion frameworks, plus the ability to navigate complex stakeholder and political environments, is essential. Experience with public bodies, regulators, charities, or community organizations and familiarity with ESG, Social Value, and sustainability reporting frameworks are desirable.
