Associate General Counsel

Greater New York City, NY Area (Hybrid - Headquarter location)
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to be the primary legal partner for its marketing claims, product regulatory compliance, and intellectual property portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the brand's marketing and advertising programs are in line with global standards and that the intellectual property is effectively managed and protected. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal activities, including managing the global trademark portfolio, advising on marketing and advertising strategies, reviewing product and brand claims, and handling legal inquiries and challenges. The role also involves drafting and negotiating various IP-centric agreements and providing legal guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and 5-8 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a background that combines law firm advertising, regulatory, or IP practice with in-house experience at a beauty, personal care, CPG, or consumer brand company. Expertise in advertising claims review, substantiation, and test protocol evaluation is essential, as is hands-on experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement. The role requires the ability to provide practical, risk-calibrated legal advice, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high volume of work with competing priorities.
