The Company is in search of a General Counsel to be its senior legal officer, with a focus on building and maintaining the legal foundation for high-growth technology investment. This pivotal role is responsible for the legal architecture that supports the firm's critical decisions, including governance, regulatory compliance, entity structuring, and capital transactions on a global scale. The successful candidate will advise the Board, CEO, COO, and shareholders, and will be the named Compliance Officer for the Americas. Key duties include setting legal standards, risk thresholds, and templates, overseeing governance frameworks, managing regulatory obligations, and leading compliance programs. The General Counsel will also be involved in firm-level transactions, managing outside counsel, and developing the legal team. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' post-qualification experience, with a background that includes both top-tier law firm practice and senior in-house roles at investment advisers, asset managers, or venture capital/private equity firms. Deep expertise in the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act exclusions, Regulation D, and compliance program leadership is essential. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in complex transactions and governance, who can ensure that the legal aspects of the business are in line with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
