The Company is seeking a Vice President of Middle Market Underwriting to lead and oversee underwriting operations across multiple states. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the strategy, profitability, and portfolio performance within the Middle Market segment. This role demands a deep expertise in Property & Casualty insurance, a strong understanding of underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and agency relationships. The VP will be tasked with achieving growth, profitability, and retention goals, as well as developing and implementing underwriting initiatives that support the company's long-term objectives. A key aspect of the role is to build and maintain a culture that is customer-focused, embraces innovation, and is aligned with the company's values. Applicants for the Vice President of Middle Market Underwriting position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, with a Master’s degree or professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or CRIS strongly preferred. A minimum of 8 years' of experience in Property & Casualty commercial lines underwriting, with at least 3 years' in a leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing underwriting profitability, portfolio performance, and multi-state operations. Strong knowledge of underwriting, rating, regulations, and market conditions is essential, as is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agents, policyholders, and industry partners. The role also requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to drive organizational change, and a focus on talent development and succession planning.
