The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive national philanthropy strategy. The CPO will be responsible for all aspects of fundraising, including major and principal gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundation support. This role is pivotal in advancing the mission of the Society, and the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and National Council Leadership to increase private sector support and align fundraising priorities with the organization's strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned development executive with a proven track record in securing philanthropic revenue, a builder of infrastructure, and a leader who can effectively manage a team and build productive partnerships across a national membership organization. Key responsibilities for the CPO include leading the philanthropy team, providing strategic direction, and personally cultivating relationships with donors. The role also involves guiding the development of donor communications, ensuring timely and meaningful stewardship, and working with the National Leadership Council to advance national philanthropy priorities. The candidate should have at least 8-10 years' of senior fundraising experience, be adept at using data and technology to enhance giving, and be comfortable with a national membership organization's structure. A genuine love for the mission of the Society, a collaborative spirit, and a long-term commitment to building a culture of philanthropy are essential. While not mandatory, knowledge of the Catholic faith and social teaching is strongly preferred, as the majority of the Society's donors are Catholic, and its work is deeply rooted in these principles.
