About the Role
Greater Tokyo, Japan Area
The Company is seeking a Vice President for its Global Markets division, with a focus on JGB Repo Trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments, and staying abreast of market trends to make informed trading decisions. This front-office role involves the execution of buy and sell orders, pricing of liquidity, and adherence to trading strategies and risk parameters. The role also requires the monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks. Collaboration with research analysts and other teams is essential, as is the management of risk associated with the trading portfolio in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, with a preference for those holding advanced degrees. Essential qualifications include fluent Japanese and professional-level English communication skills, a strong understanding of JGB cash, repo, or fixed-income financing markets, and experience in trading, markets, treasury, financing, fixed income, or related financial services functions. The role demands strong analytical and quantitative skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to assess risk and market dynamics. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of fixed-income products, financing transactions, derivatives, experience with market data platforms like Bloomberg, and coding/automation experience in VBA, Python, or similar. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trading environment, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong commercial judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
