Head of Engineering, B2B Technology Services Remote (anywhere in Mexico)

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering / Technical Director to take ownership of the technology strategy, operations, and evolution of a multi-product ecosystem. This ecosystem serves the construction industry across 15 Latin American countries and includes a B2B marketplace, AI-powered products, content platforms, business intelligence solutions, and in-house managed AWS infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the technical platform, including architecture, engineering execution, reliability, security, data, AI initiatives, and cloud cost optimization. Key responsibilities for this role include leading the operation of AWS infrastructure, acting as the final escalation point for production incidents, delivering products end-to-end, and establishing engineering best practices. The role also involves managing large-scale database operations, driving cloud and AI consumption cost optimization, and growing the engineering organization. Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' experience in building, operating, and scaling software in production environments, with a proven track record of defining the technical direction of an entire platform. Strong experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI-enabled products is essential, as is hands-on experience with AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production systems, performance, scalability, reliability, and risk management, and be adept at troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis. Proficiency in English and Spanish, as well as experience with the specified tech stack, is required. Nice-to-have skills include experience in multi-region or multi-tenant environments, technical SEO, payment and subscription billing platforms, and advanced expertise in MySQL/MariaDB.
