Vice President, Controller Remote (anywhere in United States)

The Company is seeking a VP, Controller to lead its accounting organization and play a pivotal role in the company's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategy, structure, and priorities of the accounting team as the business scales. This senior leadership position requires a professional with a CPA license, at least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, and a proven track record of building and leading accounting functions in high-growth technology or SaaS environments. The VP, Controller will be the authority on financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance, and will work closely with the CFO and executive team to ensure the integrity of financial information and support the company's growth. Key responsibilities for the VP, Controller include owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintaining accounting policies, and leading the company through external audits. The role demands a deep expertise in US GAAP, a strong understanding of internal controls, and experience with SOX or SOX-readiness work. The ideal candidate will have a builder mindset, be comfortable with automation and AI in accounting, and have experience with revenue recognition, particularly in SaaS or usage-based models. The VP, Controller will also be involved in strategic financial transactions, including diligence and complex accounting events, and will be a key partner to various teams across the company.
