Head of Operations, Retail and Wholesale Banking

The Company is seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead its Retail and Wholesale Banking Operations department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operational activities of the department, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of banking operations while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. This role involves overseeing a large team and leading various operational functions, including account opening, cash operations, payments processing, loan and trade services, and treasury settlements. The Head of Operations will also be instrumental in driving bank-wide initiatives for process improvement, workflow automation, and business continuity planning, as well as partnering with the Head of Retail Banking on key business initiatives and service upgrade projects. Applicants for the Head of Operations position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree and have over 15 years' of experience in retail and wholesale banking operations, with a minimum of 6 years' in people management roles. Extensive knowledge of corporate and commercial banking operations, including account services, KYC/CDD, e-banking, payments and remittances, treasury settlement, and loan services, is essential. The role requires a proven track record in team leadership, proficiency in English, Putonghua, and Cantonese, and the ability to formulate and implement operations policies and standards in response to regulatory changes and business needs. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving continuous improvement, developing new processes, controls, and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, risk management, and customer experience. Strong cross-department collaboration and the ability to provide regular operational updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior management and regulators are also key aspects of the role.
