Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Operational Delivery Greater Amsterdam, Netherlands Area

The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to take on an operational leadership role within its security function. The successful candidate will be the day-to-day head of security, leading the Cyber Defense organization, and will be responsible for incident command, compliance execution, and maintaining the Engineering-Security relationship. This role demands a leader with a strong background in cybersecurity, particularly in operational leadership, and a deep familiarity with telco-specific security domains. The Deputy CISO will oversee the design, deployment, and management of critical security technologies, own the security risk register, and lead security engineering to ensure security is embedded in all relevant designs. Applicants for the Deputy CISO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in operational leadership. The role requires a proven incident commander, ideally with experience in global telecoms or other distributed, high-availability infrastructure. A strong background in enterprise security platforms and direct operational experience with regulatory frameworks such as GSMA SAS-SM, NIS2, GDPR, MiFID II, and DORA is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience leading hybrid SOC models and be familiar with security approaches like Zero Trust and Secure-by-Design. GSMA standards familiarity and relevant security certifications are a plus. The role demands a leader who can build trust with engineering, represent security credibly at all levels, and is calm under pressure, with a proactive approach to delivering bad news.
