About the Role
Greater Guangzhou, China Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Financial Crime Risk Stewardship with a focus on Sanctions Risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on financial crime sanctions, ensuring that risk stewardship is maintained across all stages of policy compliance, and acting as an escalation point for complex sanction-related issues. This role involves identifying, understanding, and evaluating regulatory changes in sanctions, as well as supporting the development and maintenance of the financial crime risk framework. The VP will also be expected to work closely with regional and market risk stewards, provide oversight of sanction controls, and support senior management in analyzing audit and assurance reports. Applicants for this role at the company should have a solid background in financial crime risk or business risk functions, with a strong understanding of how financial crime controls mitigate risk. Working knowledge of the global non-financial risk framework and technical user guides is preferred. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to influence and lead change, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, critically analyze situations, and anticipate regulatory concerns.
