The Company is seeking an In-House Counsel to serve as General Counsel, with a focus on overseeing all legal matters related to the construction and general contracting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the work of external legal firms, as well as directly handling a range of legal issues. This includes the drafting and negotiation of various construction agreements, such as CM agreements, subcontracts, consultant agreements, and change orders, with a keen eye on indemnity, safety, scheduling, and payment protections. The role also involves litigation and claims oversight, managing insurance programs and risk, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a strong background in construction law and a proven track record in managing legal matters within a construction or general contracting environment. The role requires the ability to work closely with the Corporate Safety Director to ensure compliance and safety, as well as with the Operations team to review lending arrangements and other vendor/technology contracts. Experience in real estate, particularly in reviewing and negotiating office leases, and a solid understanding of employment and HR legal issues, including the creation of employment agreements and compliance policies, are essential. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on legal professional, capable of handling a diverse range of legal responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
