The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the negotiation of complex commercial agreements with large enterprise customers, including various types of contracts and related legal terms. This role demands a hands-on lawyer with a strong background in commercial contracting, enterprise agreements, and experience in the technology sector, particularly with a focus on AI. The Senior Counsel will also be tasked with creating and implementing the company's legal processes, providing guidance on a range of legal matters, and supporting the company's growth through the development of a robust legal function. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company must have a J.D. and active bar admission, with a preference for those admitted in New York. A minimum of 5-10 years' of relevant legal experience is required, with a background in early-stage or high-growth technology startups being essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating enterprise commercial agreements, experience in AI or other technical technology sectors, and a demonstrated ability to establish legal processes in a dynamic environment. While not mandatory, experience in data privacy, security, and AI-related legal matters, as well as in corporate governance and fundraising activities, is considered a valuable addition to the skill set.
