Associate Vice President, Advancement Operations & Strategy

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Advancement Operations and Strategy. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving excellence in advancement operations, with a focus on systems, infrastructure, data management, and analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction of advancement operations, including oversight of prospect development, records and gifts, and analytics teams. Collaboration with other administrators in data governance, business intelligence, process improvement, information technology, compliance, and finance is essential. The AVP will also be involved in the development and execution of guidelines and procedures to support philanthropic engagement and will coordinate operational planning to optimize donor stewardship and engagement experiences. Applicants for the Associate Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or CFRE preferred) and at least 7 years of related experience. Strong strategic planning skills, fluency in fundraising practices, and knowledge of database architecture principles are required. The role demands experience with modern data analysis tools and platforms, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven track record in leadership within complex advancement operations, preferably in a higher education or research institution setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple vendor relationships, have a strong understanding of technology, and be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Familiarity with Raiser’s NXT, data retrieval tools, and SQL programming is strongly preferred.
