Vice President, Deputy Global Controller

The Company is seeking a VP, Deputy Global Controller with a strong background in technical insurance and reinsurance accounting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will have over 15 years of experience in this field, with a preference for those who have a Big 4 background. A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance is required, with a Master's degree and/or CPA being preferred. The role involves overseeing and coordinating the accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and compliance for the company, particularly focusing on statutory entities. Responsibilities include driving efficiency in the close process, ensuring consistent accounting treatment, leading internal control efforts, and providing support for complex transactions. The VP, Deputy Global Controller will also be responsible for mentoring a team, maintaining positive stakeholder relationships, and driving process improvements in accounting and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of statutory, GAAP, and IFRS accounting, with a heavy emphasis on statutory requirements. Excellent communication skills, the ability to solve problems decisively, and a strong collaborative approach are essential. A proven track record of hands-on management and leadership, including staff development and setting high performance standards, is required. The role demands a continuous improvement focus, strong learning agility, and the ability to influence and drive change. The candidate should also be well-versed in the systems and technology used in insurance and reinsurance accounting and financial reporting processes, and stay informed about industry trends.
