About Realized
Realized helps wealth-management firms and their advisors guide clients through one of the largest financial decisions of their lives: transitioning investment property into a portfolio built around their goals. Through specialist planning, portfolio construction, exchange execution and ongoing monitoring, Realized makes the 1031 exchange a solution advisors can confidently bring to their clients, without having to become real estate specialists themselves.
The Role
The Vice President, Strategic Relations owns Realized’s relationships with the home offices of partner firms: RIAs and RIA aggregators, broker-dealers, banks and trust companies, and platforms. You will lead each firm from first conversation through due diligence, approval and agreement, then help ensure the relationship translates into sustained advisor adoption and production, in partnership with Business Solutions.
Home-office relationships carry real consequences. A firm approval opens the door to every advisor in that firm, and a mishandled one can close it. This role calls for technical credibility in diligence conversations, sound judgment, and the ability to build lasting trust with senior decision-makers.
What You’ll Do
Home-office relationships
- Build and manage senior relationships with heads of alternatives, investment solutions, advanced planning, due diligence, compliance and operations at partner and prospective firms.
- Understand each firm’s business, advisor base, client needs and priorities, and position Realized’s solution to fit them.
- Identify and develop internal champions who advocate for Realized within their firms.
- Hold regular relationship and business reviews, including annual planning conversations, to keep each firm’s goals and Realized’s support aligned.
Diligence, approval and agreements
- Lead firms through investment, operational and compliance due diligence, coordinating Realized’s investment, compliance, legal and operations teams.
- Present Realized’s investment process, risk methodology, portfolio construction and operating model with credibility to research and diligence professionals.
- Negotiate and manage firm agreements and the terms of each relationship, in partnership with leadership, legal and compliance.
- Manage onboarding so that approved firms are ready for advisor engagement: access, systems, training and points of contact.
Firm growth
- Develop a business plan for each priority firm, with goals, key contacts, initiatives and measures of advisor adoption and firm-level production.
- Partner with Business Solutions Consultants to open access to advisors and drive adoption within each firm.
- Resolve escalated concerns and protect the relationship when issues arise.
- Identify opportunities to expand each relationship, including new divisions, programs and integrations.
Market presence and insight
- Represent Realized at home-office meetings, due diligence sessions, partner-firm events and industry conferences.
- Share partner-firm feedback, competitive intelligence and market trends with leadership.
- Contribute to positioning, pricing and terms based on what partner firms need.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of relationships, diligence status and agreements.
How Success Is Measured
- Priority firms approved and onboarded, and time from first meeting to approval
- Capital flow / equity placed, exchanges completed, and repeat and follow-on investments within each firm (in partnership with Business Solutions)
- Retention and depth of firm relationships
- Diligence outcomes and quality of agreements
- Relationship health, as reflected in regular reviews and partner feedback
