Vice President of Real Estate Development Greater Fort Wayne, IN Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Real Estate Development to shape and execute its development strategy and oversee projects from concept through construction and closeout. Responsibilities include guiding site selection, acquisitions, financing, design, construction, and portfolio planning; managing budgets, performance measures, risks, and funding; and building effective relationships with development partners and public and private stakeholders. The role also leads and develops the real estate team, establishes project standards, oversees regulatory and funding compliance, and supports housing rehabilitation initiatives and transitions to long-term asset management. The Vice President will advance sustainable, community-centered development and align projects with organizational priorities and impact goals. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience. At least five years of real estate development experience—including acquisition, financing, design, construction, and zoning—is required, along with a record of managing concurrent projects and complex capital initiatives. Senior leadership experience, financial and strategic acumen, and experience working with government entities, lenders, and development partners are essential. Affordable housing, environmental review, sustainability, and complex transaction experience are preferred. Strong team leadership, communication, analytical, budgeting, and risk-management skills are required, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office and project or construction management software.
