Vice President, Portfolio Management, Sponsor Finance Greater Lafayette, LA Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Portfolio Management, Sponsor Finance, to oversee a portfolio of sponsor-backed middle-market leveraged loans and contribute to underwriting, structuring, execution, and syndication of new transactions. Responsibilities include monitoring borrower performance, covenant compliance, risk ratings, reporting, and emerging risks; conducting credit reviews; and presenting portfolio updates and recommendations to senior leaders and credit committees. The role also manages amendments, waivers, renewals, refinancings, and challenged credits, while developing risk-mitigation strategies and coordinating with lending partners and internal teams. The successful candidate will build relationships with sponsors, borrowers, and lending partners, support transaction due diligence and syndication, and mentor junior team members. Candidates should have at least nine years of relevant experience, with substantial background in leveraged finance, underwriting, or portfolio management and demonstrated experience managing middle-market leveraged loan portfolios. Expertise in sponsor-backed companies, credit analysis, cash-flow underwriting, leveraged lending structures, enterprise valuation, debt capacity, covenant structures, and transaction modeling is required. Applicants should also bring experience with amendments, waivers, restructurings, refinancing, and presenting credit recommendations to senior management or credit committees; formal credit training is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, presentation, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
