The Company is seeking a VP of Tax to provide expert advice on the tax structuring of private credit investments, including various types of loans and equity. The successful candidate will be responsible for offering tax support for REIT entities, reviewing and negotiating tax provisions in transaction documents, and evaluating the tax implications of a range of investment activities. This role also involves overseeing tax compliance and reporting, managing relationships with external counsel and accounting firms, and partnering with internal teams on new fund formations and tax-related matters for investors. Applicants must have 8-12 years' of relevant tax experience, with a strong preference for those holding a CPA and/or JD/LLM in Taxation. The role requires substantial hands-on experience with REITs, a strong working knowledge of partnership and debt instrument taxation, and prior exposure to private credit, direct lending, real estate debt, or structured finance. The VP of Tax will be expected to have excellent technical research, analytical, and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals. The position also involves mentoring junior team members and contributing to process improvements.
