Chief People & Culture Officer

The Company is seeking a Chief People and Culture Officer to play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of its people, culture, and organizational capability. This executive position is key to the delivery of the University's refreshed strategy, with a focus on building the necessary infrastructure to support the institution's ambition for global recognition in impact and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide portfolio, including workforce strategy and planning, leadership development, the employee lifecycle, remuneration, employment and industrial relations, and fostering a culture of engagement and inclusion. The role also involves enabling enterprise-wide transformation, leading change, and positioning the University as an employer of choice in the higher education sector. Applicants for the Chief People and Culture Officer role at the company should have a proven track record in executive-level people and culture leadership within a large and complex organization. Essential qualifications include experience in delivering enterprise-wide people strategies, leading organizational and cultural change, and a strong background in health, safety, and wellbeing leadership. A deep understanding of New Zealand employment and workplace legislation, as well as a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, is also required. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication, judgment, and influencing skills, and experience in the tertiary, public, or research sectors, or in a bicultural context, is advantageous. The role demands a strategic and visionary leader who can work closely with the Executive Team to turn the University's ambitions into tangible results.
