The Company is seeking a Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic to serve as its senior academic leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and stewardship of the academic enterprise, with a focus on the academic program portfolio, quality and standards, teaching and learning, the academic workforce, and the first-year experience. This role involves leading the renewal and enhancement of the academic portfolio, fostering innovation in curriculum and pedagogy, and ensuring robust academic governance and quality assurance. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic will also be instrumental in building a high-performing, collaborative, and future-ready academic culture, and must have a genuine commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Applicants for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic position at the company should hold a doctoral qualification and have an internationally recognized academic profile at a professorial level. Significant senior leadership experience in a complex university or similarly knowledge-intensive environment is essential, as is a demonstrable record of leading large-scale academic portfolios and advancing educational quality and student outcomes. The role requires the ability to lead through change, build trusted relationships, and possess exceptional communication and influencing skills. A deep understanding of the New Zealand tertiary education system and a commitment to the values of the company are also key requirements for this senior academic leadership role.
