The Company is seeking a Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise to play a pivotal role in leading the institution's research mission, enterprise activities, and external engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across the company's research and innovation enterprise, with a focus on fostering a high-performing, future-focused research and enterprise ecosystem. This includes strengthening research performance, success in securing external investment, and ensuring stewardship of research governance, integrity, and ethics. The role demands a leader with a doctoral qualification or equivalent standing, senior leadership experience in a complex organization, a strong record of advancing research excellence and impact, and demonstrable success in growing research investment from various sources. Applicants for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor position at the company must have a genuine commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, an understanding of the New Zealand research and innovation system, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industry, government, iwi, and international collaborators. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of translating knowledge into economic, environmental, social, and cultural impact. The role is critical in the company's mission to ensure that its knowledge and expertise deliver meaningful impact for communities, industry, government, and society, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, working closely with the Vice-Chancellor to achieve the company's strategic goals.
