Vice President, Java Engineer Greater Pune, India Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Java Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support mission-critical backend services for financial products. The role includes leading architecture decisions for new services and refactors, documenting technical trade-offs and non-functional requirements, and setting standards for clean, tested, production-grade code. The engineer will drive production readiness through observability, alerting, on-call support, root-cause analysis, and lasting fixes. Responsibilities also include contributing actively to Scrum and delivery practices, and embedding security, privacy, and compliance requirements throughout development. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, and at least 10 years of professional Java development experience, including Java 17+ and deep expertise in Spring Boot and related frameworks. Experience delivering software in financial services or another regulated domain is required. Strong skills in REST APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, SQL, caching, performance tuning, cloud-native delivery, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD are expected. The role also calls for experience mentoring engineers, leading technical investigations, and contributing to architecture and vendor discussions.
