About the Role
Greater San Diego, CA Area (Hybrid - Headquarter location)
The Company is in search of a VP of Capital Markets/Raising with a strong background in development-focused investment funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of the fund, with a primary emphasis on capital raising and investor relations. This role requires a professional who can combine strong fundraising capabilities with deep knowledge of development underwriting, project lifecycle management, and fund operations. Key responsibilities include leading all aspects of capital raising, developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, and managing the full investor lifecycle. The VP will also be involved in fund and portfolio management, overseeing the investment process for development projects, and contributing to the overall fund strategy. Applicants for the VP of Capital Markets/Raising position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred, and 7-12+ years of experience in private equity, real estate private equity, development finance, or fund management. A proven track record of raising institutional capital, particularly for development-oriented funds or projects, is essential. The role demands a professional with a strong network of investors and intermediaries, excellent presentation and communication skills, and experience in fund accounting and LP reporting. Preferred qualifications include experience with value-add, opportunistic, or ground-up development strategies, and professional designations such as CFA or CAIA. The ideal candidate will be adept at mentoring junior team members and will be evaluated based on the achievement of capital raise targets, the quality and diversification of the investor base, and the successful deployment of raised capital.
